On your modified 24mm box-end wrench, how thick did it end up being? Can you measure it?

I am going to try to get to my center bearing this weekend and would like to have all the prep work done so I can be wrenchig instead of being at the bench grinder.

...unless you've got a fat box end.

Hey!

What's that supposed to mean?

:^)

Driveshaft will be out as I am going to replace the Guibo and the exhaust. I'll also double check all the tranny and shifter mounts.

Steve... At work now and I usually don't carry it with me (I work at a bank). I'll measure tonight but it wasn't much. I bought a craftsman wrench and I only took a few MM off each end. If the D-shaft is out of the car it will take you 30 seconds on a grinding wheel and you'll get the right amount off.

I'll put the calipers on it tonight and post the results for you.

i'll be flying into oakland saturday morning at 8am, and you could have mine for free if you want it. It's a sears companion 15/16" wrench, and already ground and proven on my center bearing.

The leading (outer) edge was 12.5mm and the inner (by the shaft) was 11.25mm. One side was 11.125mm and the other was 12.105mm. I'd say anywhere around 12mm would be good. I BARELY took anything off and in fact over-ground because I tried to balance between both sides. I feel like I should have only taken off about 1-2mm from the metal.

posted earlier because I was too lazy to look for your request above.... Hope that helps.
