Want to know what sucks?

Driving home from work and loosing your transmission.

What sucks more than that?

Taking a 4 hour round trip drive and $300.00 to get the replacement trans.

What sucks even worse than that?

After the defective transmission is taken out of the car, I reliaze that the PO had upgraded to a E21 trans and the stock 2002 4 speed will not work for me. (it would have worked if I received the linkage that operates the throw out bearing, but thats another story)

So now I get to make the lovely 4 hour trip again. This time to swap out the stock 02 trans that I just picked up on Saturday for the E21 trans to match what I have just taken out of my car.

Plus College just started last week and I was hoping to have this job done before the homework really starts to stack up. Life is grand!!

Are you just talking the few small parts? Can you get the guy to mail you the parts? Gas alone will be more than the cost of shipping. If it's at a pick'n pull maybe there's someone around that can grab them for you? Just a thought...

Already went that route. It will be easier for me swap out for the E21 tranny. Plus I get to miss a little bit of work while I'm on the 4 hr tour so I will look at it as a mini vacation of the East Bay area.

Rob, looks like the donor is going in on Saturday morn. Should be a slam bam job, be done in an hour or so. It only took me an hour and a half to get the dead on out.
