318 Cylinder Head

I have heard that the 318 head flows the best and also has the best, efficient (and largest) combustion chamber. If you use the flat top pistons you will have the lowest compression. Also the cam is geard to turn the distributer the other way. So if you want to use a o2 tii dis. you need to use the o2 cam.

Anyone have any specs to compare? flow for intake and exhaust, cc size ect? What intake manifold would flow better Tii or 318i? Im going to be doing a buildup and would like to know this if the information is out there. If not, well, Ill just have to measure myself! What pistons would work best with a 318i head and a 2002 bottom end?

Sorry if all this is covered in the search, but I thought it was relevant to the topic on hand.

I did a wee bit of research into the difference in the Heads using the HTK parts CD.

The E12 Cylinder Head has 38mm Exaust and 46mm Inlet valves the 121 38/44

a E30/E21 316 has 35 Exaust and 42 Inlet. A E30/E21/E28/E12 (318/318i/518/518i have 38 exaust and 46 Inlet.

So the E12 head is equal in Valve Size to the 318 head
