Can I accurately find it with the markings on the flywheel? In a previous post I have stated I found the following markings on the flywheel:

'N'

silver ball

silver ball

In that order, advancing the timing this is my finding. I thoght there was a 'notch' after the silver ball and thought there was only one ball. I cannot get the car started after replacing the distributor from an aftermarket one to the correct one. Thanks again.

if you're not sure of the markings on a flywheel or front pulley is to pull the valve cover and # 1 spark plug and turn the engine over manually until you can verify that # 1 piston is at TDC with both valves closed (both rockers fully off the cam lobes for # 1 cylinder).

Once you know the engine is at TCD, mark the flywheel and / or front pulley so you can find TDC again if you need it, set the distributor, verify that all the plug wires are sequenced properly for the distributor's direction of rotation, button everything back up, and it should start (assuming no other problems).
