Lighting on tii clock

I am having major brain freeze. How do I get the tii clock illuminated?

I know it has to be plugged into the dash cluster. but I am unclear on what bulb to use and how power and a ground get to that bulb.

Any idea on proper bulb to use?

Any help appreciated?

Hi Bill,

I have my clock removed and my heater box out at the moment and can take a picture of the wiring and such when I get home this evening if it will help out. I also have a few spare bulbs in the toolbox...

Bill:

Do you have the tii Clock "wiring harness"????? It has a lead for the clock bulb. It should also have the socket soldered to the lead for simple plug-in to the back of the clock.

Be sure the clock works correctly "before" installing the dash board...ask me how I know! :-)...check "one more time" before the install.

Let me know if I can help more,

John

Agree with John on testing it.

I went so far as to plugging it in and lettig it run in the car for several days on car power before I felt it was OK.

It still looses a few minutes over a week.

Does anyone have a spare mounting bracket and knurled nuts for the back of a 72 clock?

Back when the cars were new we didin't worry about the odd couple minutes. Pre digital clocks! So when someone asked for the time you always rounded up or down to the 5 or 10 minute range...and never knew for sure whose clock was "right" to set all the others to

Bill,

Here are a bunch of pics, hopefully they will help out. The picture of the clock being removed from the dash is kind of crappy but it is the only one I took that shows where the ground wire is connected.

On a side note, if the plastic lens on your clock is scratched of just hazy I found that Novus plastic polish #2 does an excellent job at making it look like new again.

I also have a whole bunch of pics I took when I repaired my clock if anyone else is interested in them.

I found a picture of the clock I asked about. It is sad you take reference pictures and you are so old and forgetful, you forget to look at your own reference material

Sad part number two - I forgot what I did with that clock harness!!!!!

Looks like I have a new reference pic to replace my crappy one! It was nice taking a break from grinding and wire brushing the rust on my floor pans to snap a couple of pictures.
