Battery Corner Cover - who was looking for one?

There are 2 different styles of that cover that I have seen.

One like the Ebay one, and another like a curved piece of plastic with speednuts (bodynuts) on each end.

As for the battery shorting out, the battery posts should be on the inboard side of the top cover. Closer to the engine than they are to the fender. It still has the positive post closest to the front support which means the battery can short out in a frontal impact. Amazing mine did not.

VW had an early seat warming system.

The battery under the rear seat would short out when a rather large person pushed the seat springs into the battery terminals.

I hope yours is sufficiently insulated.

I'll try to post up a pic of the two battery covers.
