I like the e46 body the best.

And I've driven 3 of those cars, the '02 (a regular in the 80's and a tii now), an e21 (in the late 80's) and currently an e46.

My e21 was a helluva car though. A helluva car.

But my all time favorite car was my original '72 malaga in high school.

i like the commercial but please, that song is driving me crazy. on the weekend i work in my garage and have the tv going for background noise. womens beach volleyball has been on in the afternoon and they play that clip "i like the way you move" every 10 seconds for 2 hours. i was ready to pitch my ratchet thru the screen.

I like the E36 the best. The change from the E30 to E36 was huge, everything else has been incremental (looks wise). I remember when they first came out, I said WOW. Sorry I love to drive my 02's, better than any car in the world, but their looks are... well, best described as "cute"

That advert was made in Australia at Eastern Creek Raceway...

Dont get me started... someone's* Polaris 2002 was supposed* to be in the advert, but was not ready for it. It still isn't on the road actually - who could that be I wonder!?!

The car has that bumper bar that BLUNT is after - this is the advert I told you about yesterday... The car sold on ebay for about AU$3,000 from memory, soon after the advert aired. It was missing trims, the front was dented, butt they couldnt find another Polaris 2002 for the advert in time.

Cute?! I get nothing but the best compliments from the girls here in San Francisco. There's nothing like driving a cute and pristine classic Bimmer in a city like ours (I know you're close enough). Also, I think the E46 is the best 3-series besides ours and the 3.0cs ever made, period.

that looked pretty dark to me... but did they say 1968, then show a Square light car?

C'mon, marketing guys...

(Also, i like that they showed a 323, and not a 320)

Like I said, they had heaps of trouble getting a polaris all together, they settled on what they could find... it was in pretty bad condition too.

The 323 is WAY more common over here than the 320 - maybe the 320 didnt even come here, I have never seen one come to think of it - we got a 318i though.

I love the E46 as well. I saw that car and instantly fell in love with it. It is showing its age a bit of late - but it appeared back in what? 1998? The E46 has had a great innings.

Was NSW only.

I saw the car. Was in North Sydney. There was nothing wrong with it at the time of sale. Sold for $6,300 in the end.

By the way Todd, have you met a David Atkins yet? He doesn't seem to remember you. If you are going for head honcho in BMW Australia, surely he'd remember you.

I was asked via the European Car club if I was interested. I was very interested, at this stage, one of the blokes involved in the club was in charge of recruiting the cars. They stalled production whilst they found an E21 in Polaris. I tried to get the car done in time, but it was near impossible...

Here are some pics of it:

Note: Missing lower trims, the delete of the upper trims, poorly fitted hood and skewed grille - like it has had a botched repair to the front or similar...

Those pics were on the Aussie BMW website at the time the advert was playing back in March.
