alllllright. So i've replaced the lockstrips on my front and rear glass before. it took forever for me to do, and i said the next time that was done i would pay someone.

so i got some new glass for my car and took the car to a windshield replacement shop, i drove it to them.

i got the car back COATED in WD40, inside and out, including all over my pretty-nice-condition dash.

the headliner above the sunvisors is sticking out, and so is the material along the A pillar. the headliner is torn in one corner at the top of the c pillar, the wires for the defroster are hanging out, as is most of the headliner

the locking strips are TORN up, i bought new ones because shiny new lockstrips do a lot for a 2002, i think, and now the chrome is scraped off around all the corners of the front and rear windshield.

i called and the guy offered to have the same guys fix it and i said that theres no way these guys will be touching my car again.

i have pictures, but jesus my old boss would have beaten me if i gave a car back to a customer looking anything like this.

ughghghghh

Wow that sounds pretty bad.

I just had the windscreens reinstalled in my '74 tii. Glass place #1 wanted the car all day and said it was a "bitch" to do. Yea right guys.

Glass place #2 came out to my garage and reinstalled the glass for $50 per windscreen with no issues. No big deal.

With the disaster that sounds like they created, if they did trash your headliner and destroy the new lock strips, you should at least get your money back. Personally I'd say he owes more than that back.

id make em FIX it, meaning, buy you a NEW headliner (lock strips, too), and either put it in right themselves, or PAY another shop to do it! (id go for the latter option :))

Yeah, latter option is always a good one. However, what you do, you go to a BMW repairer, get them to fix everything that's no right because of the other guys, and then send the clowns who ruined your car the bill. That'll learn them!
