Dash cover????

Has anyone installed one of those plastic dash covers that slip over the existing dash? If so, does it look like crap or is it worth it?

Dash caps and dash covers are personal preference. You'll be sure to hear many opinions both ways.

My personal preference would be to have an absolutely pristine 2 piece dash, but since I also like to be able to pay for food and mortgage, I chose to have a dashmat covering up the Grand Canyon myriad of cracks on my dash so I don't have to stare at them everyday.

Most of the dashcaps I have seen do not fit well enough for my taste. They try to be invisible, but do not suceed. The dashmat does not try to be invisible, it just covers up the cracks and looks a little better.

Look at the pics of Esty's install. The best hard cap install I have seen so far.

The cover looks great, I think its better then replaceing the 3 piece dash. I also just installed one in my e30. I dont like to glue them down as eventualy they bouble etc but they are cheap and look good.

We put one in Nick's M20 4-years ago with great results. As far as "bubbling" goes.., we've never had any problems and it sits out in the 106 degree sun. Did I mention it's friggin hot here?
