Tranny seals = good

I finally replaced the leaky shifter-rod seal on the 5 spd in my 1970 2002 about a month ago. I suppose I was just used to that area of the car being wet and dirty. Last weekend, I got under there to replace the driveshaft center support bearing and WOW! It's still clean and dry! I suppose I should have expected more (or at least replaced the seal sooner), but it just soooooo nice not to have a huge mess on my hands (literally) when I get under there.

Just wanted to share the wonderful nature of fresh seals.

Also, by the way, my new Makita Impact Driver (http://www.makita.com/menu.php?pg=product_det&tag=BTD140 worked amazingly well. I mentioned it here when I got it, and, to any that were wondering, it kicks ass. No more bulky air tools or forearm-numbing rachets. I even tried it on the lugnuts and they came off faster than a prom dress. Though I got a deal, I'd say it would be $330 well spent.
