rain gutter trim success

BLUNT

that wasnt so bad. ive been sweating this install from everything ive been reading. i have a sore fist but it went on fairly easy with no damage. looks nice. i tried to follow john weese's advice but ended up doing it differently. i lined it up like john suggested so that it was spaced properly and then started in the back and worked forward.

That big trim by the door window is a tough one isn't it? Pluss, they are so expensive and you only get one try. I cut a piece of popler (1x4) the same length and used a hammer to put it on.

Glad you were successful Blunt! :-) The way you did it is fine, I just always feared that I wouldn't start in the right spot (if starting at the rear)and end up too long or short on the front where the bend is at the "A" Pillar. So, I start in the front....once past the "bend" it's all down hill anyway.

Sore hands are a common side effect! :-)

Take Care,

John

I put mine on and it was a pain, but what during reassembly isn't. I had to use a rubber mallet in some places to get my gutter trim to fit tight, and now it holds good, although I had to get a little rough with it and bend it back into place as I went along. Now I need the corner join pieces for the front hood and back trunk to finish it out. The door trim went on pretty easy, but the rockers were a pain and I had to get a little rough with it as well. I hope everything stays put OK, but it looks way better with the trim on. More finished look. I'll have to shoot new file pics when the chrome is on.
