e21 trailing arms

Pretty sure they bolt right on. Only you'll have to use coil-overs or fab up your own spring seats. They also have a +4mm offset I believe (they stick out 4mm farther than stock). Could be mistaken though. Are you planning on using E21 drum trailing arms or E21 disc trailing arms? Just curious.

U going to use a coilover setup? Pretty sure that if you are going to run coilovers it's very straight forward. clean them up, prime & paint and bolt on. No nonsense. If you are going to run a stock spring setup then you will have to do some fabrication. I think Nick Vyse or someone posted how exactly they did their setup and it seemed pretty easy if you can cut and weld. You can use the parts from your old trailing arms. I have a set of E21 disc arms waiting but thats WAY down the road for me. Others have good experience and hopefully they will chime in.

Need tips or advise on installing e21 trailing arms to '72 2002 subframe.

They bolt right on. But there are some problems you will encounter.

e21 trailing arms have a wider track than 2002. And you may have problems with the length of the halfshafts.

The main benefit of those e21 trailing arms is the ease of installing rear disc with a caliper standing upright, and the small spline stub axles which also use hubs with centering hubs. Much safer than using the bolts/studs to center a wheel.

What Lee said.

I believe they are dimensionally similar, if not exactly the same as 323 trailing arms. If memory serves, I used e21 (1980) halfshafts with 323 trailing arms and they worked great with no spacers. Spacing was determined measuring between flanges (diff to trailing arm) on my old e21 and comparing them to the assembly shown below:
