Here are a few more pics, although I believe Michael captured the day very well.

I am truly amazed at the support from this group and the comraderie of the 2002 brotherhood. My goal is to have her running under her own power before Tuesday night (less than one week since the crash).

The short list of Thank Yous:

Eric (South Bay Eric)- the fenders are choice!

Brian (ibjettin)- the rad will have us running MUCH sooner.

Alex Echeverri- Habana Cuba is GOOD EATS and you always make us feel special.

Double 02 Salvage - they are always there for support and the parts that I need- Class Act!

Day of the nosejob heros:

Steve K- for the tow down, the tow back, and running the FAQ. The logistics of making this work were due to him.

Cris (cj)- the "Ninja Mechanic". Jump in get the job done then off and running to the next job. All he lacked was a black ninja suit.

Rob & Robynne Torres- drove all the way up from SLO just to help out in any way. Couldn't have done it with out you Brother Rob! A package will be in the mail so Robynne can "feel the love", she deserves it!

My wife and son- for putting up with my craziness and being equally amazed as I about the comraderie of our 02 brotherhood.

And finally to Mr. Michael Dubois. I can't begin to say enough good things and to pay back the genrosity that this man gives. I will just propose that we institute a "Saint Dubois Day". We could also make an annual pilgramage to Quien Sabe Road.

The long list of thank yous goes out to my friends and the FAQ community for their well wishes and to F1reverb for all the information about possible insurance scenarios.

Tha isnt Sunny is it? What did I miss?

Your favourite uncle was sipping a latte, yacking on his cell phone, and surfing the FAQ while commuting home from work. Rear ending a large SUV was the result.

insurance company? Good that you shot the parts you removed too. Was the driver's door damaged in the crash, maybe the fender crushed into it? The battery case was damaged? That will be depreciated so get your Optima now. Like I said, I can't tell if your driving-lights were damaged? Were the headlight stone-guards bent?

Thanks for the kind word for me, and for the faqers who helped you and the ones who wanted to help but were too far away. The great thing about older cars it that it maintains the pool of home mechanics, who are in no way inferior to paid mechanics as we all know (obviously there are some good paid mechanics), and continues to maintain the tradition of working on your own car by sharing knowledge with budding DIYers where they have the ability but fear making a mistake. The DIY naysayers have no retort when I say I've done my own work for 37 years and I'm not dead from mechanical failure yet, and heck, I've never been towed either.

Now what's the story on paint?

I have taken pictures of every part of the car. Thanks for the reminder to get the pics of the fog lamps and battery and such.

Michael is working up a formal estimate on the car for me. I made sure to bring ALL the parts down for him to inspect as well. The door was damaged in part from the fender coming back and from me forcing the door open as I still needed to push the car a safer distance off of the road.

Before paint, I will need to sort out a few things. The nose was from an earlier 02, non-tii, and with AC. It will be some work to recreate a correct nose for a 72tii, but structuraly it is perfect. A few little digs and dents to sort here and there, but all of those (and more) would have to been done before I drop a roll of money into paint. We'll see how things go with the insurance company this week. Having a $19k 73 tii just sell on ebay should help my cause.

if could only get my own employees that motivated! All I can say, I had a fun day. Except Laura is asking now, how come you guys did all that in one day, and my car still in the shop? Well, honey, this customer is not very picky, that's why! Ooops... (no I didn't say that)

Thanks also Dave Furey, which without knowing has helped with his kindness and generosity, I am sure he would understand and approve. We will make it up to you.
