engine and drivetrain How much do 2002 M20 project cars go for???

Gang,

I've got a chance to buy a 74 tii (sahara, same color as the tii I have now). The owner pulled the tii engine (which I bought a few years ago) and with plans to replace it with a M20 engine. This project has been sitting for a few years with little progress. The owners family has tired of him trying to finish a project that probably will never happen as long as he owns it. I've got a chance to buy this M20 project but I don't know how much to offer. It's a genuine tii shell along with a M20 engine (rebuilt head) and 5 speed. Original So Cal tii, so rust isn't an issue. Engine and gearbox are not installed (I believe from the cryptic emails we are exchanging).

How much do I offer for everything (shell, engine, gearbox, spare parts? The owner wants it gone and I'm meeting him this weekend.

70 2800, 4 speed, Euro spec, 95K original KM's on car, granada

I need a new project car with the Bav being gone (hopefully)

for a rust free tii shell sans original engine and a non-driveable project, i'd guess $1000-$1200.

if you still had the original tii engine, buy the shell and reinstall. save the M20 swaps for standard 02s.

If you have the tii motor for that particular car put it back to numbers matching, swap the M20 into your car now.

There might be mroe to the story thogh than meets the eye if you havent thought of this yourself though. One may be in way worse condition..
