Can anyone suggest a good starting point for a pair of 40 DHLA's. They are intended for a Tii motor, with a header, 292 cam, electronic ign.. I can get them with any size venturis and jets. Any body running a similar setup?

The large print giveth and the small print taketh away.

That looks sweet! Thanks for the inspiration. Do you recall what the jetting and venturis were? Was the setup difficult to keep tuned?

Thanks for all of the responses. I am considering buying from alfa1750/ebay. But I am hesitant after reading in the above thread (very helpful) about the carbs he supplied. Nonetheless he seems to have a very high rating on ebay, and given the price of used webers (I'm on a really tight budget), I may just go for it. He's asking around $310(matched pair) w/shipping, including venturis and jetting of choice. So unless someone here has/knows of a better deal...... I already have an intake (Korman). Just need to decide on carbs and linkages.

I've bought Dellorto parts from him before... jets, venturi's etc... and he has always been good to me (emailed him pictures of exactly what I needed and he came thru)... the shipping time amazed me how fast the parts came.. to California... of course YMMV... I would not hesitate to buy a pair of DHLAs from him ( I always rebuild any carb I buy anyway ).

Out of all the carbs I bought from him (6 or 8) and were advertised to be "excellent, hook them up and run them" absolutely zero of them were in that condition, or anywhere near it.

If you have to deal with him (folks change I guess) I'd make damn sure you get a return approval in writing, or at least the carbs w/the jets etc you want and two rebuild kits thrown in.

He sold me crap for too damn much money for crap carbs and was an ass about customer service not offering me anything other than a hard time when I wanted either a replacement of the entire order, rebuild kits, or a partial refund to pay for the rebuild kits from another source.

He was a jerk and will never see another nickle from me weather he has possibly changed or not.

I have some Dellortos sitting in a plastic tub in my garage. At some point I'd like to install them on my '02. Right now I'm running a 32/36.

I don't have the linkage for the Dellortos, so I will have to build something, I guess. Thanks for the pictures--they are helpful.

I have twin DHLA 40s, not sure the jettings and venturi size. I would like to check the size, is it safe to open the jet cover and unscrew the jettings? or will it affect something else?

the car is sort of jerking at mid range rpm... :(

i'm guessing the jettings are not correct.

I would like to contribute if I knew more

I ended up with a set of webers in the end. I don't think removing the covers or jets would cause any harm if they are anything like the webers. I removed the covers and jets on my dcoe's many times as I went through the process of tuning. Tuning is much easier with a wide band 02 meter, though I was able to get close using the seat of the pants method.

I get most of my small parts from him. No problems on little bits, and

shipping/turnaround is very reasonable. 1/2 of what it costs to get

stuff locally. Never bought anything other than small parts

(jets, a-c's, etc) from him, tho...

Does anyone here knows which type of emulsion tube should i use for my M10?

My settings are like below... Appreciate the help. Tq.

DHLA 40F (yeah, the emission control type :( )

Venturis: 32 (too small?)

Idle jet: 55

Pump jet: 35

Main jet: 132 (planning to change to 140)

Emulsion tube: 7772.12 (one of those emission control types) - planning to change to 7772.6, is it wise?

from what i've read, most modified engine uses 7772.6 and the non-modified 2L engine uses 7772.10.

if someone can explain .12 vs .11 that'll be really GREAT and i shall call the person Dellorto Guru :D

Thanks in advance!
