is it just kerosene? the waxoyl directions say thin with white spirits for spraying. im not exactly sure what white spirits are. thanks.

kerosene is oily...

down here in Arkansas, sometimes we drink our spirits...

I'd vote for alcohol.

dont "white spirits" hang out in graveyards around midnight on a full moon?

Try Vodka, oh wait thats a "clear spirit".

On a more seroius note: Acetone, or mineral oil would be the best guess to thin yer paint.

Definitely not alcohol in this context. "White spirits" is British for what we commonly refer to as paint thinner or Varsol.

I did the Waxoil thing to my '02 many years ago and warmed it and cut it with paint thinner about 30% so that it would seep into the body seams. Did it in august after a three week stretch of zero rain so the car was bone dry. The car smelled and dripped Waxoil for a week or so after and it was not a pleasant job but I think it worked pretty well and is very worthwhile.
