LED replacement bulbs

I saw once - or I thought I saw replacement bulbs that were LED rather than filament. It was a normal bulb base but instead of the glass and filament there were about five or six LEDs. Marketing garb boasted things like more visibility, little to no heat, never burn out..... All things that I am presently interested in. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

I looked and couldn't find any. Maybe the North East is just not the place for that stuff. I'll try to have a conversation with someone (if I can find anyone who speaks english) when I get back home. If I can't find them, is there a mail order place that may have them?

Thanks,

I was looking at those, too... the problem is, how do you turn the bulb when its in the housing to get it to lock into place? If i remember, you have to rotate it about 20 degrees, and I'm not sure if it would fit...

I've actually been ordering a bunch of bulbs from all over to test replacements for my turn signals, dash lights, tail lights, etc. When I have some that I can reccommend, i'll let you guys know.

By the way, here's a site for smaller bulbs, that will fit in the dash. They have others, but I havent ordered those yet, so use with caution.

too.

They're just ok- better than a dim, dirty old 15w bulb, not as good as a new 'lensburner' 28 and a clear housing.

I've still got them in my nevada car as regular taillamp bulbs but as fas a brake light bulbs go...the fact that they're not a "globe" type of bulb keeps the reflector part of the lamp housing from doing much of anything. I like the long life / no heat aspect but a conventional bulb of the correct wattage and a nice clean reflector in the lamp housing makes for brighter lamps.

It says that they come spring-loaded so they'll fithrough a 1" diameter hole. I guess you could turn them the 20 deg and then spread them open.
