bmp sent me the wrong cap/rotor- did I harm anthing?

I ordered a bunch of tune-up parts from bmp. I have had the cap and rotor on the car for a few hundred miles and it's been running well.

I have a 008 tii mechanical advance ditsributor and made that clear when ordering, the car is a 70.

Last week the car just would not run all of the sudden. Turns out the spring and contact piece on the inside of the cap (that attach to the coil wire) fell out.

After calling bmp to inquire we realized that they sent me regualar 2002 vac advance cap and rotor.

my 2 questions-

1. Did I damage my distributor using those parts?

2. Do I need to return the points and condensor that they sent since they are not for a tii dist? I' new to points so I didn't mess with them yet.

No its doubtful you caused any harm.

I would not worry about the points or condensor. As long as it fits properly, it should operate fine.

The rotors are the same as well, the cap has a notch in it to keep it from turning. Just replace the bad cap and you should be good to go.
