good degreasers

Hey Gang

I'm cleaning up my engine bay while my engine/tranny are out this weekend. Any advice on a good cleaner/degreaser for all that oil/dirt on my tranny tunnel area? I'm planning on using a pressure washer so that'll be fun. I heard Simple green messes up paint..

Thanks

bahh simple green will do more than remove wax. Just go try it on your wheels and watch it etch your powdercoat or paint. To be enviromentally conscious Oil and grease cleaner from Griot's eats away at the oil and grease with no adverse effects (same microbe that was used in the exxon valdez cleanup in alaska). Make sure to use something that contains no acids or else you'll damage your paint.

Sometimes you're flush and sometimes you're bust, and when you're up, it's never as good as it seems, and when you're down, you never think you'll be up again, but life goes on

and I've been using Simple Green straight on my AMG wheels for 4 years without a problem.

Amen to the Zep Purple...also called "Morado". Crazy stuff. We use it straight from the bottle on our shop floors and it is amazing. Be careful though...it'll eat through most paints before you can say "oh shit, get the rags..."

Zep purple was our floor cleaner of choice for a while. Then we discovered SUnlight powder. Dirt cheap, and works great.
