I got the 76 2002 with all the emissions crap and want to remove it cuz its in the way. I am trying to install a 32.36 electric choke and need to know what to do with the thing between the carb and the fuel pump (specifcally what to do with the ?vacuum line? that goes to the base of the carb on the passenger side.

thanks in advance for help

Cut off a 1" long piece of the vacuum hose, seal one end w/ epoxy and put over tube @ base of carb. Repeat on tube below carb on intake manifold. Remove pots (with hoses) from up under the cowl, above the firewall. None of this is needed if you're de-smogging a ' 75 or ' 76.

Yes you can just splice the wire for the cutoff solenoid for the choke. Block either vac advance port (either carb or manifold directly below it) and use the other one for the dizzy. Remove that thing on the fuel line after the pump, run a nice longish hose (no sharp bends) direct to the carb. Job done. Beaner7102
