Window Regulator Replacement! HOW!? ARGH!

Hi! I just bought a new driver's side window regulator from BMW and am having a b*#@h of a time getting it in. It bolts up no problem, but getting the circlip on the window side is where I'm having trouble. I can't get it. That and the window is out of adjustment too. When the regulator is at the end of it's downward travel, the window sticks up about 3". Going up it wants to keep pushing the window up, I'm sure if it could keep going it would go up too far, about 3" as well. Help. I've never had a regulator beat me, but I guess there's a first time for everything. Any help is appreiciated!

Are u sure that the mounting to the door is oriented properly? Rather, does that attachment bracket need to be rotated?
