The only linkage I have is an approximately 27 inch-long piece of bicycle cable w/Heim joints that attach to the carbs.I don't have any brackets, rods etc.all the way to where the linkage exits the pedal box.My manifold is Karzundparts and I believe it was purchased from Miller and Norburn Racingin the mid 1980's.I was thinking of calling Rob Torres. Thanks

I used that on my 02 and just used a piece of flat bar stock with a twist in it and mounted that to the brake booster. I also used an adjuster ferrule to help snug up the cable. The disadvantage of this was that the motor moves and the booster stays put. It can give you a bit of a problem in being smooth on the throttle. I am sure there are far better designs out in this group now.

If you do stay with the bike cable, I would make sure it is a thicker MTB style. I saw one that broke after the Palo Alto show this year. Driver did not have a spare, either.

Almost too nice to hide under a hood.I have the linkage that connects and balances the 2 Webers. My problem is what to do from there back to the firewall and down to the pedal.I just checked Irelands website and they now offer linkage specific to the intake manifold although they don't specify how complete it is.Might be worth a call. Thank-you both

I used a "nissian" set up from Pierce. Fabricated a brace from the bottom of the rear carb to hold the cable. See: http://www.oftenlastracing.com/overhead.jpg

I can take more pics if necessary

Here you go...

See:

The cable is missing but you can see the mount at the lower left showing the springs attached to it. The "Nissian" end with a spring bar welded on. I also tack welded these to the lever rod between the two carbs - otherwise, they work loose.

I just used the stock throttle shaft and connected it to the lever on the carb. I used a spring connected to the top of the firewall to that same lever for the tension spring...

I'm also going to add a spring that goes around the rod and hooks on the heim joint for safety purposes.

Here's an old picture of when I first started putting this thing together... look toward the firewall...

I had something similar,

(not nearly so pretty)

but had trouble with the carbs shifting on the

vibration donut mounts.

So I changed to the small arrangement that fits between the carbs,

and haven't had any problems since.
