Number 12 fuses blows

MN2002

Recommended Posts

The number 12 fuse in my 72 tii conversion blows pretty much immediately. This is the one the controls the wipers, turn signals, back up lights, etc....

When I put in a new fuse, the wipers kind of go nuts and won't shut off and the fuse goes. Does have intermittent wipers?

Electrical issues are not a strong area for me. Am I looking at a ground issue? Short? Bad (insert part name here)?

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi,

the two most likely problems are the washer wiring from the distributor area to the pump. the second is the wiring from the body thru the clips on the floor pan to the reverse light switch.

isolate or disconnect both sets and try the fuse again. look for cracked or worn wiring around clips which hold the wires in place.

good luck
