To get the best performance out the car.Combined Autobahn, city, and some track use.I know about the 3.64,and 3.90(1?).Heard today there is a 3.45 from a 2002 turbo.Anyone got any info on this?Motor will have about 160-170hp.Suspension and brakes are done, too.

Is that the diff with 40% lockup?I might be able to get a 3.45.Have to wait until sometime next week to find out for sure.Is there anything lower than a 3.45.Just for grins, what is a realistic top end for this setup.Got a link for a gear ratio chart? Thanks for the reply.

Actually, not so much so at the top end-

you'd want something that won't rev- limit the car,

but instead aero- limit it.

At about what, 130 mph?

I think the 3.45 is the way to go. Rumor has it that the r&p out of automatic 318's fit our gear carriers, but I've yet to prove that...

way too low, if you want zippy put cr 5 sp with 3.90. You will have more then enough power to pull to 7000 rpms 120mph with that motor.

Looks like no one thinks the 3:64 is a good idea.Guess I will have to try some different set ups and see what feels good. Thanks for the input guys.

I had a 3.64 open diff in my m2 Touring with a close ratio box - now have a 3.45 limited slip from an e21. I think this is a much better combination with my power.
