head gasket woes....stock gasket or MLS

Alright...so I am going to give this another go. Checked flatness of block and head...check...check.

Cleaning out the bolt holes and making sure the surfances are very very clean.

So should I use this fancy MLS cometic gasket that I have or use a stock head gasket?

Speaking to both ireland and cometic they suggested copper spray on the cometic to help it seal everything up.

I am going to put it back together tomorrow morning...or that is the plan. But would like to know which gasket I should use..... fancy cometic or stock victor/reinz

This engine in time will be boosted...the reason for the cometic MLS gasket.

any help would be appreciated.....

...a 'factory' BMW, Mercedes-Benz, or SAAB head gasket

has 'sealent' impregnated in the gasket material -

come packaged in air tight package to preserve it, and should never have

additional goops applied to them. Only in some cases a tiny dab of silicone

sealent where timing cover gaps meet . So if one of your gaskets is dry and the other one tacky to the touch - I'd go with the tacky feeling material.

I've been impressed with the stock- ish Reinz gasket-

if you torque it per the instructions, I've found NO blowing or leakage.
