Finding a TIG that runs on 110V..? I dunno. But I have a Thermal Arc TA-185 inverter TIG/stick machine and it is truely a beaut... I've been thru a 110V MIG, and luckly, I found a buyer for it.. and if I were to recommend, go straight for the 220V models as some posters above has mentioned.

As you've heard the benefits of both, Tig has a steep learning curve..but once you get the hang of it, it does get better..just weld, weld ,weld.. more practice the better. If you have welded oxy/actl before, you are one step ahead in learning TIG. Its a big investment, but right if you plan to weld different metals etc.. so far mine has paid for itself and I've done up all kinds of mild steel stuff (headers, brackets, etc) , alot of Aluminum stuff (turbo piping, cast Alum etc), and recently completely welded up my friends home fabbed 312 Stainless Steel turbo header, so I got some decent stainless steel pedal time in. good luck.
