A home at last

Finally the Touring has a real roof over its head.

Still got a lot of finishing to do inside the garage. Soon I hope to start and get the project car up and running, then i'll begin the dismantling of the Touring.

i'm so envious. i've been trying for four YEARS to get through the building permit process to build a garage/workshop addition. i could go into a whole rant over that topic.

must be nice not to have to resort to car covers...

i'm now seriously considering buying a couple of those canvas 'wedding reception' type tents to store my 02's. my proximity to the San Francisco Bay is a major concern. maybe i can make my place look sooooo bad they'll beg me to build a garage to store my stuff. how's blue tarp look after several years in the sun???

Permits were a hassle when I lived in the UK. Here in the City of Elmendorf (25 mile south of san Antonio - population under a 1000) it's a whole different story.

I went to the local council office (a building that's smaller than my garage) to ask what I needed. After a good while searching, they handed me a crumpled form. I straightened it out on their counter, wrote my name/address and size of the garage and paid a whole $10 and handed it back. Done deal.

I now have to move one carport back behind the garage (it will house the parts car and trailer) and we get our 3rd bedroom back once i've moved all the parts out of it into the garage. Yvonne can have the other carport all to herself & the E36.
