through the purple accesory wire on the hazard, my fuel pump wire got disconected and is now hanging near the pedals and i dont want to take a part the entire dash to put it back, plus i dont even think the thing it it was plugged in to works properly, the purple wire is the only wire that i can think of that is bypassing the ignition. does it need to go to the 12 pin connector and then all kinds of relays?

be able to find dangling down in the vicinity of the turn signal flasher. It's on the same fuse as the instrument cluster lights. You'll probably only have to remove the small underdash panel on the far left side.

That's odd -- I thought I heard it howling from here!

Your reason for doing a hack was that you didn't want to 'take apart the entire dash', yet most of the solutions you've entertained require just that. Why do extra work? Why do something that's potentially dangerous? Why give fits to a future owner trying to fix it? Why engineer a new design? Why go to Kragen? Why not do it the easy way and just plug that loose wire back in where it belongs? You already have access, as the cover panel is missing. Aaack!

The wire from the pump is green/white. Presumably that's the wire that's hanging down by the pedals. It should plug into a 3-pole connector that's just above the carpet edge near the turn signal flasher as Mike mentioned. If my photo-attachment worked, you will see this connector in the upper left corner. Use the slot that has green/white wires in it. Just plug the bugger back in and be done with it!

(Thanks to Peter Churchill-Smith for the photo.)
