I got the rear seats from the 635ci, they still need the leather dye treatment, but look good. I recoverd the backs with black carpet, rebuilt the rear package shelf and re-carpetted it as well in the black carpet. Turned out good for a limited budget project.

Hmmm... I know of a parted-out Six series at a friend's shop. Might go there Saturday to check out the rear seat....

some cutting had to be done to the back of the seat where there is a hard plastic shell. Some of it had to be cut away to fit over the rear hump of the fender wells. You can't feel the fender wells when sitting in them...they are very comfortable! That was the only mod I had to do. It took aboput 2 hours of cutting and test fitting to get it right. I can remove them and put them back in within 15 minutes. THe armrest just bolted up with a couple homemade brackets. No problems and the looks are outstanding!

Mine was from a 1986 model, the 85 has the same style seat as well, not sure of other e24 6 series models. Ebay has these seats that come up fairly regularly. You need to get the armrest with them for the appropriate spacing between the seats. I can get some more photos possibly tomorrow of the backs of the seats and how I did it. I've read of some that bolt through the firewall into the backs of the seat or go from under the car and bolt up. I did neither and used the fastener at the top that hold the top of the original top bench and then drilled holes out for the tabs at the bottom and bolted them through the tabs in the fronts of the seats. Pictures will better explain my rambling... :)

any year will do, and the rear from the coupes works well too - very similer, and a bit more period looking. Here are mine installed in the donor CS (not fitted them yet as they're impractical for my Touring) - arm rest folds down.
