Two questions regarding the hood:

1. Is the wire attached to the inside lever supposed to start around the front or back of the small wheel;

2. Are the ends of the hood bar supposed to latch onto the hood or is the hood only held down by the hook in the center?

many thanks,

Peter

it should look like this, the cable wraps all the way around to the top. you can only get it to go one way.

Sorry - but cannot tell from the pictures.

I am referring to the wire that goes around the pulley wheel on the driver side of the car. Does it wrap around starting from the front or the back of the car,

And do the hooks at each end hold down the hood or just the center hook?

I appreciate your effort. Many thanks,

Peter

If you look in the pics you will see how the hook sits with the hood open ie were the black roller is. Unless you were refering to a different lock part. to do the cable fish it up and wrap it around from the front of the engine bay. by hand twist the black roller down to the locked position and slide the barrel of the wire keeper into the lock. the wire runs in the grove.

The wire starts at the front going under to over the wheel and ends at the back going through the bolt with a nut on it. The end levers - which should have rubber rollers on them - grab the hood by the slanting piece of metal attached to either side of the hood.

1.Front

2.All three equally

You should see the center pull down a bit after initial contact of the plastic side bumpers to fender tops. The sides want to be adjusted so that there is no play when you lift the sides in locked position, and you want no side splay while locking.

The hood/door gap is much wider than the fender/door gap. A narrow gap here ruins both hood paint and drip rail moulding.

The hinges need to hold the hood side mouldings in line with the door and other side mouldings.
