engine and drivetrain MTF & Diff Oil

Hi, I have a 74 2002 w/ a 4spd was wondering what viscosity of oil goes in the transmission and the rear diff. What kind of oil have you guys had the best results with too?

Correct weight is SAE 80 for the gearbox (2.1pints), and SAE 90EP for the diff (1.8pints). Read up on Redline MTL, many on here recomend it:

Shaun - where do you source Redline products in Melbourne? I'd like to try this stuff at the next service to try and improve the shift on the 5 speed.

what ever you use in the gearbox - DO NOT USE HYPOID OR GL-5 gear oill in the trans! (only GL-4 grade gear oil in the trans) it will eat the sycro's & brass internals

Hypoid gear oil for the diff and steering gear box.

I believe Bursons are a distributer for Redline, also try a good brake/transmission joint. I have seen it at Race brakes in Flemington (speak to Howard - owner, he used to have a race 02, and does all my suspension work, ph9326608). I've been meaning to get some myself to try it.
