I just got a distributor and I need to get a set of points and a condenser. I tried looking up the distributor on realoem.com but the part number did not work. The distributor has the number 0 231 188 002 with JFD 4 underneath it. Can someone tell me what year car this came out of, or how to properly look it up on realoem or any other site? Also, I was reading the most recent issue of Bimmer magazine and their feature on the 02 suggested that a remanufactured Bosch ID48X distributor was a great upgrade. How is this distributor different from my mechanical advance distributor?

Thanks,

Dave

It's a Bosch European High Performance Centrifugal Advance Distributor and should be similar to the 48dx

Thanks for the response, I thought it was an early Tii distributor but I wasn't sure how to look up BMW part numbers.
