I want to put a big six into my 2002.Iam thinking a 635 csi motor and trans from an early eighty model.Want to pull the top end off put triple side draft carbs 48mm change the cam to a 300 degree up the compression and drive it.Does this seem like a fast car. Or can I swap in another style motor for cheaper and better power across the board.I want to make the car fast but really old school in terms of tuning the car.I have a warmed over 2002 motor currently cam and all.I drive it hard everyday check the fluids everyday and I haven't had to mess with tuning in like 8 months. But if I need to tune it it would reallt be simple because all I do is check timing and adjust the mixture only if needed but rarely is it needed.I sure power may be down unless I keep the complete injection but I like the look of carbs and being that Iam installing a bigger motor than a 4 cyl 2002 I think I can give up some power for side draft carbs if possible to build. Also unless Iam losing 50% of my power for an injection conversion

Sometimes you're flush and sometimes you're bust, and when you're up, it's never as good as it seems, and when you're down, you never think you'll be up again, but life goes on

I've tried the "Search" several times but seem to get a list of posts about everything except what I was looking for.

Just tried "6cyl conversion" (archive, forum only) and came up with:-

Name the cars you have owned

Trunk lock cyl

legality of VIN swapping.

Admittedly, there were some 6 cyl and M20 posts, but a lot of flotsam too!

Just wondering what i'm doing wrong.

There's a bunch of us on here that have done the M20 conversion. It takes a little time, but the smile factor is well worth it!
