what is the thread size for the 320i radiator thermostat?

I'm just trying to fit a SPAL elec. fan thermostat into the radiator drain plug.

I have an option of 3/8" npt or 1/2 "

Any of these work for a 320i alum. radiator?

the thread size for the various thermostats on the 320 rad are in the microfiche( CD? ) that the service guy can access in a second. You also can get the temp selections available and the price. Good luck- I have had excellent results with my 320 thermostat - oh ya, WHEN i owned my 71 Sahara.

1971 Sahara, 1972 Inka tii with Alpina A4 Injection. Both cars have too many upgrades for the "signature" square. 1987 M325ic daily driver( all E30M3 except chassis).
