I went to the motorcycle shop and looked at their custom chromed chopper turnsignal pods. Then I went to a motorcycle salvage yard and picked up some turnsignal pods off some smooshed scooter for $5 bucks.

Installed them inside the grille to hopefully improve my chances of people seeing that I have my turnsignals on.

Next project is a third brake light...

Oooohhh...I like that!

Very unobtrusive, but still able to get your point across. The stock front turn signals can be difficult to see.

This is what I'm going with:

LED.jpg

It's a high intensity amber LED array. Very bright and also flexible.

I'm thinking of installing 4, two in the grill slats, and two following the contour of the existing turnsignals. These, in various lengths, can be purchased from www.customdynamics.com. They have a number of interesting LED products.

the 3rd brake light is just wired into the stock brake light wires. pull up your back seat and find the wires running to the trunk. grab a haynes and figure out what two wires are the correct ones for the brakes and splice in your new light. you can get a JC whitney LED bar for $15 or salvage an E30 3rd brake light, although those require a little fixing to do away with the electro gadgets inside. all you need is a straight up light bulb and two leads. easy peasy.

i'm sure the turn signals work in the same manner, although i've not installed extras.
