The description says: "This really is a 6 cylinder 2002! The car has a 528e bottom end with a Euro 323i head and cam, 320/6 intake manifold and a teenie Holly 4-barrel carb.

The transmission is a 320iS 5 speed,"

This motor and transmission combo doesn't bolt togeher, does it? Maybe he means 323i 5 spd......

Whatever the specifics,the car itself seems to be real. Maybe it is a cheap way for someone to get a 6 into their car...

I was wondering about that car myself.

There are two cars, that much is stated in the auction. From the pics it is confusing as to which car is which, and they are indeed both prety doggy.

Seeing cars in that bad a shape makes me sick to my stomach. Reminds me of those first images of when they found the Titanic. I guess the price is right to say the least...

used in M20 engined euro 323's is essentially the same trans as used in the M10 engined 4 cylinder cars (Getrag 245), but the main case has a different bellhousing shape to mate with the M20.

Rumor has it that the guts from a 4 cylinder OD 5 speed can be transplanted in the more easily located 323 4 speed main case housing with relatively minor machining operations, but I don't know of anyone who's actually combined the two.
