I've been here 5 days and have not seen any 2002s.

E21 are non-existent, E30s are VERY rare, there area few 520i and 523i E39s, a few E36s, (mostly 318s and 320s)

I did see one seriously beat up Bavaria, (but again, the majority of cars are pretty beat up) and a couple of E28. (518s and 520s)

Driving????? Absolutely NUTS!!!! Actually it's worse than that.

It really gives me an appreciation of what we have at home.

Sounds cool, I've heard that the streets of Cairo are super confusing and you can get lost all the time, so it's best to have a business card from the hotel to take a taxi back to where you started. I'd love to take a Moto-safari there. I think it would be fun on an R1200gs, dakar style. Why are you there? Business or pleasure? Cairo Musuem is susposed to be amazing, and I'm wondering how far the Giza plateau is from downtown Cairo. Have fun.
