Door and Window seal installation

Recommended Posts

OK, so I got a good deal on new seals from Blunt. Finally getting around to installing them (while getting rid of the window tint and associated glue).

The new seals fit snugly in the channels- should I be using any sort of adhesive to be shure they stay in place ?

Appreciate any direction !

Steve,

I was a bit lazy and only replaced the battered parts of the door weather strips. I did find that there was a part on the lower two thirds of the door jam were adhesive was required. I used 3M black weather strip adhesive. I would advise cleaning the strip first and then roughing up the surface to be glued with a bit of rough sand paper. Previous attempts without preping the surface have failed in short order.

After I worked on it some, figured out the same thing. The rear pop-out window pieces were such a b___ch to get in they won't be going anywhere. The door sill peice had been glued before, so will do again. Good idea on prepping the surface though.

Thks
