Lower sill trim...

I was wondering is they are just bare stainless or if the indent in them is painted black? My cars were sooo filthy and covered in overspray from the previous owners shit repairs and grime from 34 years on the road, that I am not sure how they were from factory and would like to return them to that condition.

I was also after some of Rimspoke's lower sill mounting kit and the upper belt line trims... so no one bid on the set he has on ebay right now cause I want them!!! :-P

Britspeak for "rocker panel" is "sill panel" so if that's the case, they came naked stainless steel from the factory--the indents were not painted. And since they're stainless, they can be polished up very nicely--yours are probably dulled from 30+ years of road grit blasting...

cheers

hehehe, thanks! I was after the rocker panel trims - thanks for the answers all! I have began polishing them up. I will give them a buff with some metal polish - there is an article in an Aussie magazine about restoring stainless trims this month, so I will grab it!

Anyone have a part number for the sill covers - not the optional ones, the standard black plastic ones? I need to see wha tthey are worth to replace. Mine are dead.
