Removed ancient, ugly, non-functioning (Frigiking?) A/C console yesterday and think I'll go with this one...

That's a correct console-mounted speaker grill and vintage Blaupunkt Frankfurt AM/FM radio. Note the "BMW" faceplate and correct dash-matching knobs. Correct pushbutton foglamp switch, dull silver ashtray handle and Amco shiftknob.

It has taken me years to collect enough stuff to do this.

Thanks to those on the board who helped me find these parts. You know who you are.

There is much yet to do. The S/W gauges need to be connected, the underdash panels reinstalled, and the undercolumn pad awaits some cleaning and a coat of vinyl protectant.

:)

I've seen sound system upgrades for old US classics that "hide" in the car yet allow you to still look stock.

I know, many prefer the sound of the motor, but a little aural distraction isn't a bad thing, is it?

Thanks, Harry,

The Stewart-Warner gauge panel is black krinkle paint finish, and appears to be manufactured specifically for the 2002 dash. Unlike the VDO panel, the gauge sizes are SAE. It's the only one I've ever seen...

...but that's not saying much.

Julius at Ofest this summer? No Montezuma road to run, but I'm sure there are some good back roads in Central Michigan...

We'll be there!

In West Michigan there are plenty of great roads; covered brideges, roadside parks and old rally routes on which to get lost.

I have a particular selection of roads where I take Orange Julius on early morning drives (Saturday or Sunday, weather permitting). Yesterday, while enjoying a favorite twisty section (and NOT speeding) I nearly walloped a stopsign-running 7series right in his "Bangle-butt."

I passed him later and resisted the temptation to raise my bowfinger.

After all, it was Sunday, and Easter...
