Can these be pulled out once there pushed in? I was thinking of hooking a chain up to a tree and trying to pull it out, carefully of course, but don't want to even try if it won't pop back out. I know they can be a real pain to remove and replace and wanted to try this as a last measure. thanks, steve

leave some slack in rope and take running start( not too fast)! it will pull out maybe do it in two stages. It worked for me. key is to use crappy old rope so it breaks instead of your bumper ripping off!

and there're not all that hard to swap-out. I've had to do it a couple times

Should be a bunch of 'em lying around from the crowd that's gone to small bumpers. Post on the FOR SALE board and see what pops up. Should you ever need it again it's preferable to have one in place that's never been collasped.

on the collapsed shock. This worked for me, and you don't have the risk of any further damage from the quick and dirty rope-tree method.
