I've got grey Suspension Technique springs up front matched to Bilstein HD inserts. I'd like to match the rear to the front but I have no idea what the spring rate is or where I can go to purchase ST rear springs. The PO installed the Bilsteins on all four corners but kept the stock springs in the rear. Where can I buy the matching springs for the rear?

Thanks

Looks like springs only come in sets of 4 so I can't just get rear ST springs. Is ST a good choice or are there other brands like Eibach, H&R, etc. that would be better. I like the 1/2" drop, maybe would go down to 1" but not much more than that. If anyone could suggest something that would be either comperable and cheaper than the ST option, or just comperable price but better I would really appreciate the help.

Thanks

You might try calling Carl Nelson at LaJolla Independent (www.bimmerdoc.com) and explaining your situation. If he doesn't have a half set laying around, he might split a set for you. Korman (www.kormanfastbmw.com) might do the same thing, but I'm not sure they're carrying STs any more.

Call over to Double 02 Salvage 510-782-2002.

I know they have a few odds and ends lying around.

I just talked to Mark at Double 02.

He said he has a pair of rear springs that he believes are Eibachs- Dark silver metalic paint, bigger than stock coils. Now you just need to find out the spring specs on ST vs Eibach to see if they are compatable.

How old are the front springs? To be certain of having matched spring rates, they ~should~ be purchased in sets of 4, but I can totally understand about only needing 2 springs rather than all 4. Mark said he could also work you a deal on a full set of STs if that is what you want.
