There are always a few listed in the Roundel. Also there's a few links in the CCA's website for some E30 IX forums and webrings. Lots of info and classifieds leads.

Good luck!

I might be looking for a 318is. I'm assuming it's a 91 e30. Dreaming of a Calif is. Can you e-mail me pics and details?

the IX is an all wheel drive model right? How does the model/platform stack up? It looks to be a cool rally option if they work. BMWs have good torque and I'd image an AWD would have good traction.

yup. of the ix's they are pretty much the rarer of the bunch. i might be wrong but last time i remember looking at the production numbers they were less than the m3's but a decent bit.

>How does the model/platform stack up?

actually they are pretty slow. it's really the 325i with the awd setup and more so it's pretty heavy. not too much pep, from the weight, but damn good in the snow/bad weather.

They are awesome cars. we have an ix and x5. both my wife and i prefer the ix in the bad weather over the x5. it's a sherman tank when it's bad out. we love it, and will drive it till we can't anymore.

From what i've learned from the ix forum, the 5 speeds are better to have than the autos, but the auto's have higher dif ratio's for stuff like rally.

I have an '88, which is the 1st year for the US: two-door only, with big bumpers and no ski bag, but also with the Recaro-style seats, M steering wheel, and some other options as standard. I'm not committed to parting with it, but I'll email you.

Ditto what Dave said. I'll have to sell mine in a few years so I can get a tow vehicle/wife's car, but my iX is a great car.

There is one on Roadfly currently for $11,000! I test drove that one last spring and passed it up for another one in nicer condition. It was sold then for about $5000. Every seal in the drivetrain was leaking. My experience with mine has been good although there are alot of hidden gremlins with these cars. They live up to their reputation in the snow.

They had a very rebuildable 2 door iX show up at Double 02 a while back.

Too bad that they towed it with the front wheels on the ground. The transfer box was wasted.

Just be aware that the iX's do have some very unique parts. As is the norm with M3's, if it only applies to that one car the cost is going to be high. If it is a normal E30 part, they are really inexpensive. But, you should already know this after owning a 318is.
