Check you hinges in the rear hatch, THEY BREAK DUE TO AGE AND HAVING NO LUBE! MY PASSENGER SIDE BROKE GOOD THING I WAS VISTING MARKUS SO HE FIXED AND WELDED IT. I don't know if the hinges are still available, but I will buy spares ASAP.

Back in '76 I bought a brand new Plywouth Arrow GT (Iknow...I know....errors of the past...). I hadn't owned it for a year when the hatch hinges froze due to rust and tore the sheetmetal they were attached to.

The bodyshop had to weld the piece of metal again and apply heat with a torch to the hinges so that they would work again.

The car also had a habit of breaking door locks so that it couldn't be opened from outside. I remember leaving a wedding with my now-wife and both having to unelegantly climb through the hatch to get in.

Needless to say, it didn't last long. A few months after, I bought my first '02.
