This is my first try at restoring an early cluster. I used the bare metal foil that was suggested by a fellow faq member. The foil is kind of difficult to work with and I got too many wrinkles, hopefully the next one turns out better. Thanks for the suggestion.

at least youre trying. i think its going to be tough to do it without wrinkles. i ended up spraying mine silver and they look fine. not as nice as if you could use your method without wrinkles but fine. theres places that will chrome plate plastic but i have no idea on cost. if i was doing a 100% stock resto id look into it but im going to make do with some silver spray paint. good effort though. keep at it, i bet youll get it

That really looks brilliant! Even if you dont use that one and try doing it on another one, you could probably sell it for a great price on ebay. Nice work.

sure looks good in the pictures! I did mine with silver paint a couple of months ago. It was 100% improvement, but I still wasn't satisfied. I did order some of that chome leaf myself when I saw the suggestion. Next time I have to go into the instrument panel, I'm going to give it a shot.

Looks good from here!

Chrome plastic ain't cheap to do.

Just ask Carl Nelson about the little trim pieces for the headrests that he gets done.
