1. what's a REALLY GOOD trick to unstick the rear shoe adjusters? they're really bad, i've tried pb blaster for a while, should I use heat & other than taking the backing plates back off the car what's the correct tool to adjust them so i don't strip the heck out of them?

2. how hard it it to upgrade to a tii MC? Is it as easy as just drain, unbolt old, bolt new, bleed?

3. what's the CORRECT way to seat new calipers, pads & rotors? it would be a shame to waste new calipers, pads & rotors over a poor seating.

4. the plan is to put on a set of girlings, etc. the girlings have an almost mint looking set of pads on them currently. the car i pulled them off of at the yard had a brake job receipt from only two months ago. i have new pads as well, would it be stupid to use the used pads? would it be a waste to throw them away? i've measured them with a caliper and they are not worn unevenly and they are plenty thick (comparing to the new pads over 95% unworn)

thank you for your advice and help in advance.

1. Pull drums, remove shoes

2. Unlimber propane torch, and apply heat to the adjusters on the inside of the backing plates. Alternate heat and the rust solvent of your choice

3. Grab adjuster on the inside with a pair of vice grips and work 'em back and forth until they're freed up. This way you won't mess up the hex heads on the outside of the backing plate. Be patient, they will work loose.

4. While the adjusters are hot, work some oil into the joint between adjuster and backing plate.

5. Solemnly swear to adjust brakes at least annually, preferably semi annually and to re-oil the adjusters every time you're under the car.

Good luck
