my cool "vintage" cars to take his date to the prom. I was flattered but told him that a limo with all his friends would be more fun. I was in Germany for my prom we rented big Opels, we took our dates to the dance then to the after thing. As soon as we could get rid of them we hit the autobahn for a long high speed cruise. Man, that was fun. And man, I am old!

convertible, top down on a balmy May night in Ft Lauderdale...and yeah, the Chevy was only two years old! That car is immortalized in our Lauderdale High yearbook...class of '62.

About ten years ago I helped a friend's daughter with her high school's homecoming parade...I showed up in my Bugeye Sprite amongst all these M-B SL roadsters, Cad Eldo convertibles etc--and all the homecoming queen candidates wanted to ride in the Sprite! I led the parade around the football field...

Gee, I wish I had had the Sprite in high school! But the Chevy was a pretty cool ride...

I went to my formal in a family friends 1950's Bentley drophead convertible... nothing came close! I drove my dads '66 Mustang to my graduation - similar vibe in Australia to a Prom - people loved it :-)

I had the 1950's Bently owner drive myself and my prom date to the prom.

Man, that brings down memories. My friends and I ditched the prom and took the 75 2002 (this was in 1997) and headed out to lauderdale beach. :)

Being the long haired "hippy kid" that I am, I just wasn't for all that homecoming and prom and pomp and circumstance. Much preffered the beach, some live music and my 02 and some buddies.

we ditched the prom and went camping. with the ladies along and everything- kind of special for a bunch of friends from high school. Even got to borrow my dad's 6 series to get there and it was turning out to be a fun trip until the park ranger arrested me with a 30 pack of MGD for something called "dram shop" right in the middle of cooking some burgers for dinner. Kind of ruined the trip as I remember 3 of us went down. Well at least we went back and took care of it a couple of months later way out in nowhere illinois somewhere west of rockford.

I guess I win the award for prom from hell. Funny that I remember the 635 euro a lot better than that trip.

Huh? It was a Bentley... my dad drove it as the owner was over seas at the time.
