The 38/38 is a good choice. I had one on my 02 and it was fast, but a gashog.

the 32/36 is a definate improvement over stock... maybe a single 40/45 and a cam.. Or a 38/38 and a cam as the post above mentions.

I just installed a sync-link (Thanks MikeM) on my weber 32/36 and it makes the carb barrels open up in sync rather than in sequence, and seems to make more torque on the lower end of the pedal, and smooths it out some. Not sure what the HP is on my car w/ the 32/36, sync-link, stock cam and exhaust, and a accel super coil, but it runs and come off corners real good. I think Pierce Manifolds sells the sync link, which is a pretty cool option that makes the car look pretty stock and makes the carb act more like a 38/38 double pumper, which is cool.
