The set that I have have the wheel bolts pressed into them and the spacer bolts to the hub.

Am I better of removing the bolts from the spacers and having longer bolts pressed into the wheel hubs or using them as is?

TIA

Skippy.

That is not a good way to approach a spacer issue. If you use them, use longer studs that are pressed into the hub and slide the spacer over the studs.

I am running small (1/8") spacers in front and use the studs from rear stub axles as they are longer than standard front studs.

Good Luck,

Where do you get spacers? I'm lookig for some 4x100 spacers so my alloy rims don't seize on the hub. Is this the way to go? Also, who sell them?

Skippy, I believe that all wheel spacers are illegal in Australia, they are in Vic, not sure on QLD laws. This came from the NSW RTA website

The fitment of wheel spacers (or adaptors for dual wheel conversions) between the wheel mounting face

and the road wheel is not permitted unless fitted as original equipment by the vehicle manufacturer.

You might have to find different wheels. Beaner7102

Spacers built that way are usually pretty thick, and using spacers that thick is usually a bad idea. What is the thickness, and why do you need it?

OOOH, nice! What BBS rims?

Dad and I discussed this, he said he would get the spacers welded to the back of the rim... that would get around it. Seriously! When was the last time you were pulled by the cops and they looked at your wheels for spacers?

Live life to the max :-p

I was once pulled over by the cops for a random inspection. He had a go at me about the stock, factory battery mounting hardware. Loser.

these are the wheels I want to run. The gold goes well with the tan interior,..... and the planned S14.

They look cool... Im sure there is a few others on here with them.

My dad has been around cars for years and used to be a copper, he said it is all a visual thing, if the car looks well maintained, clean, etc. generally they wont even bother looking at the internals unless it makes heaps of noise and you are being an ass hat in it... so far it has worked for me... I had on incident when I got my license where I was a little too enthusiastic with the throttle though a corner and the cops were hiding down the street, they looked at my tyres, told me it was in good order then told me to settle down. :-)

Just brush some antiseize on the mating surface on the back of the wheel, they wont seize to the hubs again. Beaner7102
