Went down to PicknPull this morning to get some bits for the MS setup for my 75 500$ wonder

Picked up a,

320i aux electric fan

320i intake manifold ( more work but I like the look better than the 318 setup )

318i coolant flange w/ sensors

318i coolant delete pipe

318i 80a alternator with brackets

318i fuel rail and FPR

Total price out the door 50$

I have a ford 5.0 throttle body with tps ( had it laying around, hope I can get it to fit in there )

24# high impedance injetors out of my Corrado when I swapped to 42s

Fuel pump from a 924s I also had laying around ( looks like I can fit it just in font of the tank in the trunk )

A Wide band 02 kit from a buddy for 100$

MS v3.0 and wire kit should be here next week some time ( just bought a prebuilt with MSnE )

I still need to get a few sensors and plugs for the harness.

Looks like I'll be in the whole swap for under 500 ( it helped to have a few leftover parts ) I'll get to start on it Monday ( I think I'll tackle the injector setup first ) no flying for me ( dann weather )

I'll take pics an update as I go along.

They do look more sexy than the 318i. I have both in the basement.

I deceided to prep a precision bushing for the injectors so the delicate machining would not have to be done on the mainifold at the angle the injectors are at. Plan to ream out the manifold holes by hand and drop in the bushing. Injector then just pushes in using the std injector o-ring. Can share a pic, but the pics are at home.

A radiator shop is a good place to take a leak.

I have no idea what I'm doing but I know I'm really good at it.

The bushing will drop in the manifold after reaming the old injector hole out.

Interesting.

I was fiddling around with it today and the injectors seem to fit in the stock bushing in the 320 manifold after you pull the O-ring off the bottom of the injector. I put a small O ring back on the injector and it sits real nice.

Didn't get much more done there as I got sidetracked with the fitting of the 80 amp alt, the cooling fan and the relocation of the battery to under the seat ( at least I got those done )

It looks to me that the fuel rail will fit no problem under the runners ( and it does ) , the problem on the manifold is where the TB goes on and the log part dips down. I'll give it some more attention tomorrow and fire up the TIG and do some trimming/welding on the fuel rail to see if it will fit with minimal to no changes on the injector ports.

Wish me luck.
